Block #11 - Oak Leaves & Flowers - Susan B. Anthony (jw)
This block is dedicated to Susan B. Anthony (1820-1906) -- creator of the NY Women's State Temperance Society, activist in the American Anti-Slavery Society, and ardent suffragist (including have been arrested in 1872 and 1873 for attempting to vote).

New York Beauty #12 (Lynn)
The last block! It has been a great journey...and now the decision on colors for setting blocks begins. New York Beauty was a wonderful way to end our BOM. I used templates since I have only had one experience with paper piecing. Thanks to all for this learning opportunity.

Susan B Anthony #11 (Lynn)
A bit late, but done!!
I took the liberty of substituting a different block this month. The Carpenters Wheel represents a different sort of freedom, freedom from slavery. This block in a quilt signaled runaway slaves a path / direction to head toward freedom. Fun to assemble this block, but wouldn't want to make many of them...a bit tedious. Eleanor Burns instructions in her "Underground Railroad Sampler" with Sue Bouchard were great!
One more block to go. Happy Spring to All!!
Susan B Anthony #11 (Val)
I chose to do a Susan B Anthony star from Eleanor Burns "Stars Across America" as I knew I did not want to tackle the applique block in the book. In honor of Spring I photographed by a Lenten Rose in our garden, one of the few flowers blooming in spite of late snow.
I'm hoping the blue center will help tie in the star framing I will be using for all the blocks.
